Love & Forgiveness

I “LOVE” the scriptures teaching  “LOVE” & “FORGIVENESS” and it’s important to remember they’re essential to eternal life♥️

Forgiveness ~

~ Ephesians 4:32 ~ be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake has forgiven you.

~ Matthew 18:21-22 ~ Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how many times could my brother sin against me and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” “I tell you, not as many as seven,” Jesus said to him,“but 70 times seven.

~ Matthew 6:14-15 ~ For if you forgive people their wrongdoing, your heavenly Father will forgive you as well. But if you don’t forgive people, your Father will not forgive your wrongdoing.

Love ~

~ Luke 6:27 ~ But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

~ Proverbs 10:12 ~ Hatred stirs up conflicts, but love covers all offenses.

The second Greatest Commandent ~

~ John 13: 33-35 ~ A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another.

When we realize the need to love & forgive and the reward of obeying God’s word we can understand how one could “love” the “thought” of forgiving in the midst of being hurt by another. It seems a hard thing to do, and no doubt is IF we try to do it on our  own.

Love is the key to forgiving ~

~ John 3:16 ~ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God’s “love” for us is so great He sacrificed His son, Jesus, so we could be “forgiven” of all our sins and live eternally in Heaven with him. He loves us so much that He gave us free will to live our lives as we wish and He loves us so much that He waits patiently for us to understand His only requirements are to ask Him to become part of our life and to ask for his forgiveness. When we accept Jesus as our Saviour faithfully and with humility it is His love that will comfort and protect us and help us to endure the evil of the world.

When we read God’s word we grow in His love. We also learn what pure love and forgiveness is. It’s his  kind of love that transforms our hearts, it sustains us and by its very nature it becomes contagious.

The love we feel from our Heavenly Father becomes planted in our hearts and souls. It’s His gift to each of us, a gift we’re not only commanded to share but eager to share.

And so the conclusion is simple…

~ Honor God’s sacrifice ~ Forgive others as you have been forgiven ~ Love as he loves you ~ Share what has freely been given to you ~

Blessings,

Vicki
